OVERVIEW

Team Hydration was a subscription-based startup founded by a family friend while attending Florida State University in the early 2010s. The service delivered 25 freshly filtered bottles of water each month to students living on and around campus.

My approach was to create an identity that felt relevant to students and student-athletes, but also bold enough to be instantly recognizable in a crowded collegiate environment.

OVERVIEW

The original logo I designed was extremely literal—unsurprising in hindsight, as I was only a junior designer at the time. In 2019, I refreshed the brand to be more thought-provoking and better aligned with its intended audience: college students and athletes.

The new identity takes a more intentional and refined approach. The custom wordmark and collegiate-inspired typography establish a strong connection to campus and athletics, while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. Negative space within the “H” subtly form a water bottle icon, reinforcing the product without overt symbolism.
